Q:  Is this a craft fair or an art fair?         YES!

The unique and funiMaGine project returns for its third year in 2017. Each year the Fair planner select an object, and challenge artists to create a work, in their medium, that is representative of that object. Two years ago the object was a pear. Last year, a morning glory. This year's object is a skyscraper, in recognition of all the new building taking place and energizing downtown Milwaukee.  Be sure to visit the iMaGine display tent and vote for your favorite. All pieces will be available for purchase as well.

Check out this video and see why one couple finds reasons to return the Morning Glory each year.

Once again, the fair, sponsored by the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council, (WDCC), brings together top fine craft artists from around the country. This year's event will feature both new and returning artists from 15 states and Canada. Check back often as we will shortly be presenting images of the work of the outstanding line up of artists who will be participating.

Fine Craft is a category within the larger domain of Fine Art

Contemporary fine craft is marked by innovation in design and materials. Accepted as an important art form, contemporary craft is marked by new interpretations of traditional technique and style. Studio craft artists continue to make objects by hand, beautiful pieces that can be utilitarian and are sold in galleries and at art fairs. These individuals have generally learned their skills in more formal educational settings – including studying, researching, and experimenting.  For a pdf  further exploring Fine Craft and WDCC.....
